The article presents an analytical review of autism spectrum disorders as a heterogeneous group of neurodevelopmental disorders with multifactorial genesis. The analysis of the concept of ASD from the initial descriptions to modern nosological concepts in ICD-10 and DSM-5 is carried out. The clinical and psychopathological characteristics of the disorder are detailed, including the triad of core disorders in the communicative, social and behavioral spheres.
