A large number of diseases can be transmitted to dogs through tick bites. In this article we will focus on the ophthalmological manifestations of ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis, Lyme disease and babesiosis. Most often, these tick-borne infections cause in dogs anterior and posterior uveitis of varying severity, retinal detachment, optic disc neuritis. Cases of conjunctivitis, keratitis/keratoconjunctivitis and orbital lesions have also been described.
